INTRODUCTION
Smart grid, a modernized power system, plays a crucial role in the integration of renewable distributed energy resources (DER) and to address the challenges of green energy transition. However, intermittence and uncertainty and of renewable distributed generation impose several operational challenges on power grids.
Smart grid technologies offer new options not only to allow maximum use of distributed energy resources, energy storage and EV charging infrastructure but also to enhance the grid sustainability, reliability, stability, security and affordability.
Smart grids complexity of widespread multiple energy resources cannot always be studied by conventional analytical methods. Thus, modeling and simulation are of great importance to study and analyse smart grid systems.
